The final home game of the season is upon us and what a strange year it has been. Although it’s hard to believe, back in August Keegan was still the manager and we won against Bolton off the back of a draw at Old Trafford. Everything was looking promising. Only nine months later and enough stories to rewrite the bible we find ourselves teetering on the edge of the abyss.
An essential maiden victory for Shearer on Monday night has the fire back in everybody’s belly now though, and although Fulham are in a rich vein of form, we all know they aren’t the best of travellers. A win tomorrow could all but guarantee us safety if results go our way elsewhere so it is essential everybody turns up to give their all whether on the pitch on the bench or in the stands!
Defeat could mean that we will go in to the last game against Villa requiring a victory and we at Beyewatch would rather we do the business at home tomorrow then risk several thousand heart attacks next Sunday in the Midlands.
Going into tomorrow’s game we should have pretty much what we had available last Monday. A few notable performances being Duff at fullback as well as Nolans involvement in midfield. Most importantly the goals returned and although we did enough at the back we did look a little shaky on occasions and I think we all know a better team than the smoggies would have probably punished us on more than the one occasion.
Our man Habib got a rather unfortunate own goal which I’m sure he doesn’t want to repeat, but he showed plenty of endeavour, bombing forward on every occasion to drive the team on. Bring your flags, bring your rattles, bring your scarves and bring your voices. If you don’t this may well be the last Premier league game you see for a long while. Let’s make sure things don’t turn out that way. One reason is to make sure this site still has a Beye at the club to report on.
Special mention to the guys from the U.S. who are getting a special Beyewatch tour of the city (drinking establishments) before and after the game tomorrow. Hope you enjoy it lads.
Beyewatch Prediction 2-0 (we’ve got to get one correct soon)
Sunday, Monday, Habib Beye
Welcome! www.beyewatch.co.uk was dedicated to all forms of Habib Beye propaganda whilst he played for Newcastle United FC. We're looking for Aston Villa fans to take on the adulation.
Habib Beye loves us (we've met)! Get in touch with us at songs@beyewatch.co.uk
