Guus Hiddink brings his blue men to St James' Park on Saturday to face Alan Shearers black and white army. This season will surely go down in Geordie folklore for being the most bizarre, crazy and pretty much everything and anything else you can think of, can we now add the great escape to all of that?
To be honest trying to predict anything this season has been virtually impossible due to the absolutely ridiculous chain of events that have gone on. Could a season that promised so much and has so far managed to deliver nothing but heartache finish on a welcome high?
We already know that Owen is likely to start but with all of the commotion, news on Taylor and Bassong’s various recoveries from injuries have been quiet. Bassong in particular would be a substantial miss if he didn’t play. Habib Beye would prefer to be deployed in his usually right back berth and the likes of Cacapa and Edgar could be in line to step in if necessary.
Midfield holds the big dilemmas. A fit again Danny Guthrie would be a welcome sight for us at Beyewatch, and with the likes of Taylor, Duff, Jonas, Butt, Lovenkrands and Nolan all available there is plenty of competition for places in there.
Up top we have Martins, Owen, Carroll and Shola to choose from with the smart money going on Oba and little Mickey to start the game.
Shearer has already stated he is going for all three points, with a packed out noisy St James’ behind him and the lads could it be possible?
Beyewatch prediction 2-2
Sunday, Monday, Habib Beye
Welcome! www.beyewatch.co.uk was dedicated to all forms of Habib Beye propaganda whilst he played for Newcastle United FC. We're looking for Aston Villa fans to take on the adulation.
Habib Beye loves us (we've met)! Get in touch with us at songs@beyewatch.co.uk
