Sunday, Monday, Habib Beye

Welcome! www.beyewatch.co.uk was dedicated to all forms of Habib Beye propaganda whilst he played for Newcastle United FC. We're looking for Aston Villa fans to take on the adulation.

Habib Beye Watch at Hull

It's getting harder and harder to write these match reports. We make no money here at beywatch. Ad revenue is $20 per year or something silly. Here at beyewatch we do it for the love of the game, the club and Habib Beye. We have two loyalties; Habib Beye and the Club. Without Habib Beye, there's only the club's performance to comment on in a match report and that's getting hard to fit in between washing the dishes, laundry and watching our club slide towards the bottom 3.

We're under no illusions here - beyewatch readers are generally fans of Habib Beye and Newcastle United, but if you want a match report, you'd probably go to the excellent www.nufc.com where the match reports are timely and you know they've been written by someone who was at the match come rain or shine. If you want a 'professional' journalist, you probably want the BBC site or a local rag like the Journal or the Ronnie Gill.

If you want a report with a Habib Beye slant then we're your men! The issue is, Habib hasn't played enough this season to make the match reports more than a moan about woeful performances and off-pitch antics at St James' Park.

So, if you want to know anything about the Hull game, read a previous report! No doubt we lacked a bit of spark, it was a game we should have won, people coming back from injuries didn't perform, too many players were off colour, their goal could have been avoided, the team selection was poor and the substitutions were even worse, we missed the players who are injured, Milner and Given would have made a difference and there are no signs that the players get that we're in a relegation dog fight.... I admit it, I didn't go to Hull and I didn't even watch the highlights (although other beyewatch boys did), yet I bet this match report stacks up against what you saw... Predictably poor! Even player of the season Bassong seemed to be below par.

Let's hope Habib has an impact. We need a group of leaders here, eleven of them would be nice but if all we've got is Butt, Owen, Beye and Nolan then so be it. Those four need to challenge their colleagues, demand their effort and commitment and put to rest the abject misery of a season thus far. We have two home games against sides from the top 4. Let's do our best to win those, take heart from our performances and then look to do the job right against those in and around our position. Otherwise, as sure as eggs are eggs, if we dismiss the Arsenal and Chelsea games as unwinnable, our morale will be rock bottom and many players will be looking to places like Wigan and Hull for a game next season and we'll be left with a bunch of crocks, kids and old cronies!
