This JFK couldn't have seen the sniper from the grassy knoll either as both Michael Owen and Joey Barton were picked off in a calamitous game at Eastlands. Andy Carroll must wonder what it would be like to score a meaningful goal, his consolation rallying the troops but proving ultimately fruitless.
A game punctuated with poor passing, injuries, penalty claims and substitutions was ultimately won with two bits of quality. Unfortunately it was the City players who produced, with SWP latching onto some quality play from Robinho (which is Portuguese for 'under a cloud') and Bellamy who got his now customary goal against us. Despite the poor performance, Newcastle were never out of the game, as predicted it was a case of which team handled the current circus goings on better. Early exchanges saw the Mags spurn possession time after time but at least they only went in one down at half time giving Kinnear an opportunity to lift his troops. If only he could do it before the game, we might stand a better chance of leading a match rather than constantly playing a goal behind.
A Man City fan close to a Beyewatch source said that Newcastle were at least in it in the second half and that his team failed to play; something which is widely reported in the press but seemingly ignored by an under pressure Hughes. The City Boss claims that his side had more quality, which couldn't be hard given what we had on the pitch.
We're now without a win in 7 which to our minds is relegation form. We MUST win our next 2 games to avoid slipping into the bottom 3. It remains to be seen what JFK, Ashley, Wise et al are going to do about that...
