Habib Beye injury update (2)

As mentioned on the site for the last week or so, Habib Beye is struggling with a sore Achilles tendon injury which has seen the Senegalese stopper failing to fire on all cylinders in recent weeks. Beye, in an interview with the Evening Chronicle admits that he may be forced to miss the next home game against Hull.

This comes as little surprise and we can't help wondering whether Beye would have been better advised to miss the PSV and Valencia pre-season games and coming into the season without a game, but a fully rested ankle?

Habib is quoted in the Chronicle as saying:

“I can’t play at 80 per cent – I need to be 100 per cent. I am having a break now, as I am not going away with my national team."
So this gives Beye two weeks to recover which sounds a lttle light to us! We hope Habib misses the Hull fixture to ensure he comes back fitter and stronger in three weeks time.
