Habib Beye Watch at Man Utd

Habib Beye played the full 90 minutes against Champions Manchester United at Old Trafford and helped the Magpies gain a well deserved point. Beye wasn't at his best during the clash but his worst would appear to be 'reliable' and 'comfortable', indeed Habib is yet to have a stinker in our view. Beye coped well against Giggs then Evra but we missed out on his trademark surging runs.

Strangely, it was only when Beye shuffled in at centre half to cover for the injured Steven Taylor, that we conceded. Habib appeared to be offering emergency right back Milner cover as Ryan Giggs swept the ball in for Fletcher to equalise. TV Pundits suggested that if Taylor had been on the pitch he may have snuffed out the danger. We can't help thinking that if the 'Zog had have either stepped out or followed Fletcher's run more closely then we wouldn't have conceded.

But that's enough of the defence apart from to add that Coloccini looked decent on his home debut. Newcastle's midfield impressed and had it not been for some lazy passing from Nicky Butt, the possession statistics might have been a lot closer to 50 / 50. As it was Guthrie played very well linking up with the wingers and a very mobile forward line. Jonas ran Guthrie close for Man of the Match and probably deserved it for making Rooney chase him like an axe murderer before skipping away to deliver another decent ball into the box.

All in all, a solid and inspiring performance. If we keep this up we'll win more than we lose.
