Habib Beye Watch - Hartlepool away

Habib Beye's tight calf saw David Edgar given the nod at right back in Newcastle's first pre-season friendly. Habib was in good company in the stands as Newcastle ran out 4 -1 winners without Michael Owen or Mark Viduka leading the line. Most reports credit the Magpies with a slow start, even falling behind to a Hartlepool goal in the first half before Damien Duff's hat-trick and debutant Danny Guthrie's first goal for the club went unanswered.

Let's hope we don't spend too many games this season without Habib Beye otherwise these match reports might get a little boring.
