Happy Days - Sunderland Home

In the biased view of this fan, Habib Beye put in a near man of the match performance as Newcastle trotted out as victors in the Tyne and Wear derby. Only Owen matched the Senegalese stopper's performance and given he scored 2 goals and took about 4 dirty tackles, little Mickey deserves the gong on this occasion.

Beye gave a whole hearted display, typified by a 100 yard dash with the ball in the 93rd minute, and never really had to break a sweat to keep Sunderland at bay. Despite Geremi's poor performance in front of him, Habib regularly passed the halfway line and even managed a first half shot. The tame effort still had Gordon in trouble as he squirmed to his right to shove away the already wide effort from the right back.

Here's the scores on the doors so far:
Beyewatch = 8
BBC = 7.22
Sky Sports = 7
Sky Sports Fans = 8.2

As noted in the comments - Made the Sun's premier league team of the week

Did you see it when Taylor and Beye were going nuts after the final whistle? Habib only went and took his shirt off and threw it into a group of screaming fans; some mates of mine who were nearby said they all had semis.

Made the Sun's Premier League Team of the Week at Rightback for his almost flawless display against Sunderland

I think this image may go some way to explaining why Ian's mates had semis.
